Before your first review
How do I install Audit Tickmarks?
Open Audit Tickmarks on Microsoft Marketplace and select Get it now. Or, in Excel, go to Home → Add-ins → More Add-ins, search for Audit Tickmarks and select Add. Some Excel versions use Insert → Get Add-ins. Read the setup guide.
What can I use for free?
Eight essential text marks in six standard colors, four 3D stamps, a fixed red circle, mark removal, cell highlighting and the demo sheet. The Open Items preview shows the scan count and up to three findings in the pane. Full report sheets and the remaining toolkit require Pro.
Will the marks change my formulas?
Formula cells are protected from text replacement. Use an empty review column, floating image stamps, or Pro’s Attach to value placement. Attach to value changes the number format rather than the underlying number or formula; removing the mark restores its original format.
Does the report find my image stamps?
No. It scans recognized unresolved text marks, such as ✗, ? and 🚩, including marks attached through number formatting. Picture stamps, circles and comments are visual annotations, not report inputs. Use a text mark for any finding you want in the report. Scans cover up to 60,000 cells and skip add-in-generated demo, legend and report sheets; Pro lists up to 500 findings and flags partial scans.
Can someone without the add-in read the workbook?
Yes. The marks use ordinary Excel cell text, number formats and shapes. Comments are native Excel comments, and Pro report links work inside the workbook. Your colleague can read the review without installing the add-in.
Can I use my firm’s own marks?
With Pro, add up to 12 custom text marks and eight custom image marks. Export the set and let colleagues import it, so they use the same symbols and meanings. Custom marks are stored on each device until you export or import them.
Which Excel versions are supported?
Excel on Windows and Mac with Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 and later, plus Excel on the web. Drawing tools need a current Excel version with the Shapes API. iPad and iOS are not supported.
How does the Pro license work?
Personal Pro is $39 once for one user on up to three devices. Team Pro is $129 once for up to 15 users. Both include future updates. Enter the key from your purchase email in the add-in’s license settings. An internet connection is needed for license validation, with a seven-day offline grace period after a successful check.
Where does my client data go?
Worksheet contents stay in Excel and aren’t sent to our servers. The add-in loads its hosted files and stamp images and validates Pro licenses over the network. Read the privacy policy or browse the documentation.
