A few things to know
Does XLlama work on a Mac?
No. The new XLlama is for desktop Excel on Windows. It does not run on Mac, a phone, or Excel for the web.
Do I need a powerful computer?
Ollama generates answers on your PC. Speed depends on the model’s size and your available memory and processing power. A model that is too large for your machine can respond slowly. Start with a small model and try Free on your own PC.
Does it work without internet?
Local AI works after you install Ollama and download a model. Pro checks its license daily and can work offline for up to seven days after a successful check. Automatic update checks are off by default.
What happens when I reach the free limit?
Your chat allowance resets the next local day. Free lets you use up to five XLlama formula cells per workbook. Upgrade to Pro for more chat and formula use. Your saved chats and completed answers stay available.
Can I choose my AI model?
Yes. Download and switch between supported local Ollama models in XLlama. Cloud models and remote AI servers are not supported.
Can I trust every answer?
Answer quality depends on the local model you choose and the context you give it. XLlama connects that model to Excel; it does not make the model smarter. Check important answers and try a small sample before using results across your workbook.
I already bought XLlama. Do I need to pay again?
Use your existing active XLlama key in Settings → License. If you have an older add-in installed, remove it before installing this version. Your older workbooks may need their formulas updated. See the documentation.
