Beyond the 24 built-in image marks (in 3D emoji, flat emoji, and classic icon styles), Pro lets you stamp your own images: your firm’s tickmark artwork, a logo, a signature.
Add an image #
- Open the menu (top left) > Settings > My marks and click + Add an image in the “My image marks” card.
- Pick a PNG, JPG, GIF, or WebP file. PNG with a transparent background looks best on cells.
- The image is shrunk to 96 px and stored on your device only; it never leaves Excel. Up to 8 images, each renamable (the name appears in tooltips and the legend).
Stamp it #
Your images appear as a My image marks section in the mark grid. Select cells and click one: it is stamped on each cell, auto-sized to the row height, exactly like a built-in image mark. Several stamps on one cell line up side by side, and Remove tick marks from selection sweeps them off with everything else.
Share a firm pack #
In Settings > My marks, Export marks copies your custom text marks AND image marks as one text snippet. Send it to a colleague; they paste it into Import and stamp the same marks with the same names. With a Team license, one exported pack gives the whole team identical tickmarks in seconds.
Limits and tips #
- Image marks need a reasonably current Excel (Microsoft 365, Excel 2021, or Excel on the web). On an older version the pane says so; the text and emoji marks work everywhere.
- Icons and simple artwork work best; a photo may be refused if it stays too heavy after downscaling.
- Stamps are shapes, so they are capped at 300 cells per click.
