Marks are only useful if the open ones get resolved. List open items (Pro) scans the whole workbook and writes an Open Items sheet: one row per finding, with the sheet, a clickable cell reference, the mark, and the cell’s content.
What counts as open #
The marks that flag unresolved work: ✗ ✘ ? ! ❌ ⚠️ 🚩 ❗ ❓ 🔴 ☒ ≠ ○ ☐. The report finds them:
- standing alone in a cell,
- inside a mark combination (“✓ ?” is open; “✓ F” is not),
- trailing on text (“Balance ✗”), and
- attached to a value via the number format.
Ordinary sentences are safe: a question mark at the end of normal text (“Why?”) is not treated as an open item.
Using the report #
- Each cell reference is a real Excel hyperlink, so reviewers without the add-in can jump straight to the finding.
- Re-running the report asks before replacing the existing sheet.
- Resolve an item by removing its mark (or re-marking it ✓), then run the report again; an empty run says so explicitly.
The legend pairs with it #
Insert legend sheet documents what every mark means, optionally listing only the marks actually used in this workbook (it even detects which image marks appear, via their shapes). Legend plus open-items report is the hand-off package: the next reviewer knows what the marks mean and what is still outstanding.
Scope and caps #
The scan skips the add-in’s own sheets (the legend, the demo, and the report itself), stays inside a generous cell budget so a huge workbook cannot freeze the pane, and lists up to 500 items; the status message tells you when either cap was hit.
