Sign-offs #
Type your initials once in the Sign-off card, then:
- Sign off stamps initials plus today’s date, for example
SB 04-Sep-26: the classic preparer or reviewer stamp. - Date only stamps just the date.
The stamp follows your placement setting like any mark (next to the cell, in the cell, or attached to the value), and Remove tick marks recognizes the pattern, so old sign-offs clean up even though their date differs from today’s.
Numbered steps #
Steps are auto-incrementing cross-references: every insert places the NEXT number.
- Styles: circled numbers (① ② ③, up to 50), keycap emoji, plain “1)”, circled letters (Ⓐ Ⓑ), plain “A)”, or a badge: a small colored circle shape floating right of the cell, which works even on formula cells.
- Multi-cell: select several cells and one click numbers them all, top to bottom. Skipped cells never consume a number.
- Click-to-number: arm it and every cell you click in the sheet gets the next number, in exactly the order you click. Any other action turns it off, so numbers only land where you meant them.
- Repeat: stamps the SAME reference without advancing, for both ends of a tie-out. The classic tools called this “pause incrementals”.
- Counters live in the workbook. Reopen the file next week and the sequence continues where the review stopped. Numbers and letters count independently, and you can edit or reset the “Next” value any time.
