Getting started

XLSnake requires desktop Excel on Windows.

The video demonstrates installation and play.

1. Extract the download and keep XLSnake.xlam in a permanent folder. Excel will load the add-in from that location.
2. On Windows, close Excel. Right-click the downloaded add-in, choose Properties, and select Unblock if that option appears. Only unblock the file you downloaded from Python & VBA.
3. Open desktop Excel and go to File > Options > Add-ins. Choose Excel Add-ins beside Manage, then click Go.
4. Click Browse, select XLSnake.xlam, and leave its checkbox selected before clicking OK.

Start a game #

1. Open the XL Tools tab on the ribbon.
2. Choose Settings if you want to change the difficulty, snake color or username.
3. Click Play Game to launch XLSnake.

If the tab appears but its buttons do nothing, check the downloaded file and add-in selection using the steps above before changing any global macro settings.
