Start with a simple bar chart to check your data selection.
Video walkthrough #
- Save your workbook, then open CutePlots > Chart Builder. Use Click Here to Add Sample Data Sheet if you want ready-made example data.
- Choose bar as the chart type and enter a file name and chart title.
- In Labels, select the category column, including its heading. In Data, select the numeric value column or columns, also including their headings. Both selections should cover the same data rows.
- Open Settings to adjust the available appearance options, then click Create Chart.
- Open the generated HTML file in your browser if it does not open automatically. The chart service requires an internet connection.
For example, a table with Month in A1 and Sales in B1 could use A1:A4 for Labels and B1:B4 for Data. Include the headings so they are not mistaken for the first data point.
Keep the generated .json file if you want to include this chart in a dashboard later. The .html file is the chart you open in a browser.
