The short version:
- Only the values of the columns you select are sent, not their headers, together with the List B entries each row is compared with and your extra rule if you wrote one. Only rows that need an AI answer are sent. Exact matches, repeated rows and rows that already have a result are handled inside Excel and never leave it. No other columns, sheets or file names are sent.
- Your cell data is not stored. The matching service passes the text to the AI model, returns the answer to Excel, and keeps no copy. Its logs hold counts and status codes, never cell text. The extra rule is not logged or stored either; only its length is counted.
- For the free credits, the service uses your network (IP) address, shortened to its network part and kept only as a one-way hash for 30 days, to count how many free grants went to that network. Your full IP address is not stored.
- Your data is not used to train AI models.
- The AI model (Jev) is run by TypeSafe AI through Cloudflare. Content logging is turned off at Cloudflare’s AI gateway; Cloudflare keeps only request metadata such as the time, token counts and cost. TypeSafe keeps data as long as reasonably necessary under its own privacy policy, so do not send a list you are not allowed to share with a service provider.
- On your device, in the local Office add-in storage: your install id, license keys, last known credit balance, and settings (threshold, where results go, the review highlight, the theme). In the workbook itself: a workbook id, your extra rule, and a list of the result blocks the add-in wrote (where they are and which rule they were made with), so it can find and clear them later. These workbook settings travel with the file. No analytics, no cookies, no advertising.
