Get up and running with the TablePop add-in quickly and easily. This quickstart video guide walks you through every step of the setup process and demonstrates how to use the tool effectively.
Install the classic Excel add-in #
- Extract the downloaded ZIP and keep the
.xlamfile in a permanent folder. - On Windows, close Excel, right-click the downloaded add-in, and choose Properties. If Unblock is present, select it and click Apply.
- In Excel for Windows, open File > Options > Add-ins, choose Excel Add-ins beside Manage, then click Go. On macOS, open Tools > Excel Add-ins.
- Click Browse, select the extracted
.xlamfile, and make sure its checkbox is selected. The product tab should appear in Excel’s ribbon.
Export your first table #
- Open a workbook with a small Excel table. If your data is an ordinary range, select it and use Insert > Table, checking that its headings are included.
- Click TablePop > Export to HTML. If the workbook has several tables, choose the one to export. If it has none, accept the offer to load an example table, then click Export to HTML again.
- Open the exported HTML file in your browser and try its search, sorting, and filters.
- To change the exported appearance or destination, open TablePop > Settings and export again.
Keep an internet connection available when viewing the file: this classic export loads its table libraries from a CDN.
