Install more Ollama models

Download a model in Ollama, then select it in XLlama.

For a download example, the video uses gemma3:1b. Other models may need more memory and disk space. If a model is not listed in XLlama, check that Ollama is running and that XLlama points to the same Ollama server where you downloaded it.

1. Browse the Ollama model library and choose a local model and size suitable for your computer. Copy its exact name and tag.
2. Open your terminal and run ollama pull model-name, replacing model-name with that name. Wait for the download to finish.
3. Run ollama list and confirm that the downloaded model appears.
4. In Excel, open XLlama > Settings. On the Ollama tab, select it from Model Name, then click Save. Reopen settings if the model list was already open during the download.
5. Try one short prompt before running a whole range of cells.
