Getting started

Install MyToolBelt in desktop Excel, then try a feature in a copy of a workbook.

The video below walks through installation.

1. Extract the download and keep MyToolBelt.xlam in a permanent folder. Excel will load the add-in from that location.
2. On Windows, close Excel. Right-click the downloaded add-in, choose Properties, and select Unblock if that option appears. Only unblock the file you downloaded from Python & VBA.
3. Open desktop Excel and go to File > Options > Add-ins. Choose Excel Add-ins beside Manage, then click Go.
4. Click Browse, select MyToolBelt.xlam, and leave its checkbox selected before clicking OK.

Try the ribbon #

Open the My Tool Belt tab. For a first test, open a workbook with several sheets and choose Table of Contents in the TOC group. The tool creates an index sheet with worksheet previews.

If the tab does not appear, return to the Excel Add-ins list and check that MyToolBelt is selected.
