Get up and running with the SimpleGantt add-in quickly and easily. This quickstart video guide walks you through every step of the setup process and demonstrates how to use the tool effectively.
Install the classic Excel add-in #
- Extract the downloaded ZIP and keep the
.xlamfile in a permanent folder. - On Windows, close Excel, right-click the downloaded add-in, and choose Properties. If Unblock is present, select it and click Apply.
- In Excel for Windows, open File > Options > Add-ins, choose Excel Add-ins beside Manage, then click Go. On macOS, open Tools > Excel Add-ins.
- Click Browse, select the extracted
.xlamfile, and make sure its checkbox is selected. The product tab should appear in Excel’s ribbon.
Create your first Gantt chart #
- Replace the sample tasks while keeping the required ID, Name, Start, and End columns. Keep IDs unique and use real Excel dates.
- Click Create Gantt and choose the table if prompted.
- When the export succeeds, choose Yes to open the HTML file. The success message includes its saved location.
