The ribbon tab is missing #
Close Excel after saving your work, run the supplied installer again, then reopen Excel. Check that you are using desktop Excel on Windows and that your organization’s policy allows the add-in. The evaluation installer is unsigned.
Ribbon commands are disabled #
Start with Create setup or Demo sheet. Add selection, Refresh sources, Dimension Finder and Export need an existing setup table. Finish editing the current cell before using a command. A read-only workbook or protected setup sheet can disable editing commands.
The setup table was deleted or renamed #
Select Create setup, then Create new setup. This creates an empty table on an available sheet name and keeps your export settings and source filters. Existing sheets and rows remain in place. Add the rows you need to the new table and save the workbook.
Review your setup appears #
Correct the listed rows, then export again. Check for missing or renamed sources, invalid slide numbers or dimensions, a chart paste type used with a non-chart source, and missing or duplicate text placeholders. Refresh sources after adding or renaming workbook objects.
If numeric columns have unexpected formats after a preview update, open Setup once. This repairs Slide and dimension formats and converts valid numeric text to numbers. Save the workbook afterward.
The file cannot be exported #
Check that PowerPoint is installed, the template is available and the output folder is writable. Save an unsaved workbook or choose another output folder. Download online-only files first. Use local or synced paths instead of SharePoint web URLs.
For Active presentation, open an editable deck and create the destination slides before exporting. If export fails or is cancelled, review that deck for partial changes before saving it.
An unexpected error appears #
