Install the add-in #
You need Windows, desktop Excel, desktop PowerPoint and .NET Framework 4.8 or later. Excel for the web and Excel for Mac are not supported. The add-in supports 32-bit and 64-bit Excel.
- Save your work and close Excel.
- Run the Excel2PPT setup file supplied with your preview and select Install Excel2PPT. Setup checks prerequisites and installs for your Windows user without administrator access.
- Open Excel and look for the Excel2PPT ribbon tab.
You do not need to install .NET 10 Desktop Runtime or WebView2 separately. The preview is unsigned; your organization’s security policy may require IT approval before it can run.
Try the built-in demo #
- Open an editable workbook and save it to a local folder.
- Select Excel2PPT > Demo sheet. This adds sample data and example rows to PPT Setup.
- Review the enabled rows in the setup table. The optional text replacement row starts with Export = No because it needs a matching placeholder in PowerPoint.
- Open Settings, choose a new presentation and check the output folder and name. If the workbook already had export settings, the demo preserves them.
- Select Export, open the result, then change a demo value and export again.
- Save the workbook to keep the demo, setup rows and settings.
Clicking Demo sheet again reopens the existing demo and preserves your edits.
Use your own workbook #
Select Create setup to create the setup table. Select cells, a chart or a shape, then choose Add selection. Set the destination slide and paste type in the new row. Open Settings to choose the presentation destination, then select Export.
Continue with Set up export rows.
