Which Excel version do I need?

You need Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 and later. It works in Excel on Windows, on Mac, on iPad, and in the browser (Excel on the web). Live format syncing (charts following cell re-formatting) needs a reasonably current Excel; everything else works everywhere.
