Yes. Sheet2JSON converts your files entirely on your PC. Nothing you open, paste, convert, copy or save is ever uploaded anywhere.
The app contacts our API for two things only, and neither request ever includes your files or their contents:
- License check: validating a license key sends the key, a device name (your PC’s name plus a short identifier derived from your Windows installation), and the app version.
- Free-conversion checks (from version 1.1.2, only while you use the app without a license): right before and after each of the 10 free conversions, the app sends one-way hashed identifiers of this computer (made from Windows and hardware IDs; the original values never leave your PC), the free counts and the app version, so each computer gets its free conversions only once. Free conversions therefore need an internet connection; with a license, the app makes none of these checks and works offline.
There is no usage tracking, no analytics, no account, and no ads. The full details are in the privacy policy.
This is also the practical difference from browser-based converters: with Sheet2JSON, confidential workbooks – client data, payroll, unreleased numbers – never leave the machine they are on.
