Use a named range when you want part of a worksheet inserted into Word as a picture.
- In the ExcelToWord workbook, select the cells to export and give them a workbook-level name, such as
rngSummary, using Excel’s Name Box or Name Manager. - In your Word template, select the placeholder area and use Insert > Bookmark to name it
Summary. Save the template. - In the Excel export table, add or rename a placeholder column to
Summary. EnterrngSummaryin that column for each document that should include the range. - Run Export to Word. The range is rendered as an image and placed at the matching bookmark.
The mapping is Word bookmark Summary → Excel column Summary → cell value rngSummary. Use the exact same bookmark and column names; double braces are only for ordinary text replacement.
The inserted range is a picture, so its individual cells are not editable in Word. On macOS, this is also the alternative to Excel table export.
