On Windows, ExcelToWord can insert an Excel table as an editable Word table.
- Format the source data as an Excel table in the ExcelToWord workbook. Give it a name such as
tblOrdersusing Table Design > Table Name. - In your Word template, select the placeholder area and create a bookmark named
Ordersusing Insert > Bookmark. Save the template. - In the export table, use
Ordersas the placeholder column header and entertblOrdersas the value for that document. - Run Export to Word. The source table is pasted at the matching bookmark.
The Word bookmark and export column must have the same name. The cell value is the Excel table name, without double braces.
To export matching rows only, use tblOrders|Region|North in the cell, replacing the names and value with your own. The filtered-table guide explains per-document filter values.
macOS: Editable table export is not supported. Use a named range to insert the cells as an image instead.
