Yes. Table Compare works in:
- Excel on Windows with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later.
- Excel on Mac with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later.
- Excel on the web in a current browser (Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari).
A report made on one platform opens on the others, because it is made of ordinary sheets and tables. Keep Excel updated: newer builds support the add-in platform best.
Platform notes #
- Other workbooks and files: on every platform Excel lets an add-in read only the open workbook, so a second workbook is chosen as a file from your computer. On Excel for the web, choose a copy you downloaded. See Compare with another workbook or file.
- Excel on the web: if the pane stays empty after opening, reload the browser tab. Private windows and strict tracking protection can block the add-in’s storage; try a normal window.
No macros are involved, so nothing needs to be enabled in Excel’s security settings.
