Table Compare is listed on Microsoft Marketplace. You add it from inside Excel in a minute, or ask your IT team to deploy it.
What you need #
- Excel on Windows or Mac with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later, or Excel on the web in a current browser.
- An internet connection when the pane opens. The add-in’s code is served from addins.pythonandvba.com; your workbook data is never sent anywhere.
- No macros, no admin rights on your computer and no account with me.
Install it yourself from Microsoft Marketplace #
- Open Excel and a workbook.
- On the Home tab, click Add-ins, then More Add-ins (on some versions: Insert > Get Add-ins).
- Search for Table Compare (by Bosau Digital) and click Add.
- A Table Compare button appears on the Home tab. Click it to open the pane.
You add it once per Microsoft account. It then shows up in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web wherever you sign in with that account.
Personal Microsoft account? Install from inside Excel as shown above. The Get it now button on the Microsoft Marketplace website asks for a work or school account and stops personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, BT and similar) at Switch to an account that has permission. The Add-ins menu in Excel works with every Microsoft account, including the free Excel on the web at office.com.
Deployed by your IT admin #
Many companies deploy add-ins centrally from the Microsoft 365 admin center. If yours does, Table Compare appears in the Add-ins menu under your organization’s add-ins without you doing anything; it can take up to 24 hours after the admin deploys it. If your organization blocks add-ins from the store, ask your IT team to deploy Table Compare for you.
Updates #
There is nothing to update. Table Compare loads its current version each time the pane opens, so you always have the latest release. The changelog lists what changed.
