Use the Excel workbook with your own Twilio account. Start with one SMS to a number you control before adding a full recipient list.
Video walkthrough #
1. Prepare the workbook #
Download the workbook from your welcome email and extract any ZIP archive. Before opening it, right-click the workbook, choose Properties, and select Unblock if available. Open it in desktop Excel on Windows and click Enable Content if prompted.
2. Connect Twilio #
On Settings, enter your license key, Twilio Account SID, and Auth Token. Configure a sender from your own Twilio account that supports SMS to your test destination. Keep the Auth Token private. For an SMS test, set Send via WhatsApp to Off.
3. Send a test message #
- Open Send_Message and clear the example rows. Older workbooks call this sheet SMS, as shown in the video.
- Enter one test recipient in Receiver, using international format with a plus sign and country code. Add a short Text Message and leave the media field empty.
- To send an actual SMS, set Test Mode to Off in Settings; when it is on, the workbook only simulates sending. Click Send Messages (Send SMS in the older video) and review the confirmation.
- Check the Status column and the receiving phone. Use Refresh Status to retrieve updated results in workbooks that include that button.
An accepted or queued status does not yet mean delivered. See message statuses if your test does not arrive. Complete any account or sender setup required by Twilio before sending a batch.
