1. Install the add-in #
- In Excel, go to Home > Add-ins (or Insert > Get Add-ins), search for Chartmeister, and click Add.
- A Chartmeister button appears on the Home tab; click it to open the task pane.
2. Build your first chart #
- Click Try it with sample data on the empty preview. A sample block is inserted, the data is bound, and a live bar chart appears.
- Edit any number in the bound range: the preview updates as you type.
- Click other types in the type row to see the same data as a combo, waterfall, heatmap, and more. The hamburger menu’s Insert sample data adds one example block per chart type.
- To chart your own data, select the range and press Use selection. Headers and label columns are detected automatically, with manual overrides in the options.
3. Get the chart out of the pane #
- Insert places the chart into the worksheet as a picture. Insert again to update it, or reopen it later via the menu’s My inserted charts.
- Export downloads an interactive HTML file or a PNG image, or copies the image to the clipboard.
- Add to dashboard collects charts; the menu’s Dashboard view exports them as a single HTML page with tabs and draggable cards.
4. After the trial #
Bar, line, and pie charts stay free forever; their exports carry a small watermark. Entering a license key under Settings & license (hamburger menu) unlocks all 18 chart types and removes the watermark: paste the key from your purchase email and click Save & verify.
Having trouble? #
