The chart editor opens in its own window, an Office dialog, when you click Edit. If it does not appear, the chart shows a message that points to the cause:
- “Excel blocked the chart editor window.” Allow pop-ups for Excel, then click Edit again.
- “Your browser blocked the chart editor window.” In Excel on the web, allow pop-ups for the site in your browser’s address bar, then try again.
- “The chart editor is already open.” Only one editor can be open at a time. Finish or close the open one first; it may be hidden behind the Excel window.
- “This version of Excel cannot open the chart editor.” Update Excel. Deltaline needs Microsoft 365 or Office 2021 and later.
- “The chart editor could not be loaded.” Check your connection, then try again.
If none of these apply, use More options > Restart add-in on the chart. Still stuck? Copy the details from More options > Diagnostics and send them to support.
