A chart follows the range or table it is linked to. When it stops updating, the usual causes are:
- The data was moved or deleted. If the linked cells, the table or the whole sheet were deleted or moved, the chart keeps showing its last state and says “The data for this chart was deleted or moved. Select the new data and click Rebind.” Select the data in the sheet and click Rebind; the chart follows it from then on.
- The new rows are outside the linked range. A chart linked to a plain range covers exactly that range. Select the larger block and click Rebind, or turn your data into an Excel table before you link it.
- The chart is a copy. In Excel on Windows, a pasted chart shows the same data as the original until you select new data and click Rebind. In Excel on the web, a pasted chart is a static picture that never updates; delete it and insert Deltaline again from the Add-ins menu.
- The add-in hangs. If a chart shows “Excel did not respond.”, open More options > Restart add-in, or close and reopen the workbook.
