DatePop builds printable calendars in Excel and puts a real date picker into it. A calendar for any month and a year at a glance are free. For dates, you open the DatePop pane, click a cell, click a date, and DatePop writes a true Excel date into the cell: a date serial with a date format, not text that merely looks like one. The pane stays open and follows your selection, so filling a column of dates is click a cell, click a date, click the next cell, click a date.
Pro adds public holidays for 207 countries, twelve-month and weekly planners, styles, a calendar made from a table of events with an .ics file that imports the same events into Outlook or Google Calendar, fill series and date fields for shared workbooks. You can preview the calendars, the events calendar and the .ics file in the pane before you buy.
DatePop works in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web, needs no macros and no account, and your data stays in Excel. The getting started guide takes you from the sample data to your first picked date in about a minute. The free version is a complete date picker, with date and time, and the month and year calendars, with no time limit and no key.
Coming soon to Microsoft Marketplace. DatePop is not listed yet. The DatePop page shows when it is live, and the steps for adding it are in Installation.
Open the pane once, then leave it open. Excel does not let an add-in open itself or show a popup at a cell, so you open DatePop from the Home tab and keep the pane docked at the side. See Why doesn’t the picker pop up in the cell?
