AI Categorizer sorts every row of a list in Excel into one of your own categories. Give it a month of bank lines and your chart of accounts, and ADOBE *CREATIVE CLOUD goes to 6300 Software and subscriptions. Give it customer comments and your topic list, and every comment gets a topic.
What it does #
- Your categories, nothing else: for every row it picks one of your categories, or Other when none of them fits. It cannot invent a category that is not in your list.
- Flag what is uncertain: every answer comes with a confidence score and a status (Categorized, Review or Other), so the rows worth a second look are marked for review.
- Use the list you already have: read the categories from a range, such as your chart of accounts, with optional descriptions, or type them. Any column of that list, such as the account number, can be copied next to each row.
- Stay in Excel: results land in new columns next to your rows. Nothing else in your workbook changes.
It runs in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web. You pay per row with credits: every installation gets 100 free credits to try it on your own data, and one-time credit packs that never expire cover the rest. There is no subscription.
Need to match two lists instead, such as bank payees to your vendor list? That is AI Fuzzy Match. Which add-in do I need? explains the difference.
