AI Categorizer and AI Fuzzy Match are two add-ins with one job each.
| AI Fuzzy Match | AI Categorizer | |
|---|---|---|
| The job | Matches two lists: finds, for every row, the same business, organization or person in a second list. | Sorts rows into categories: puts every row into one of your categories, or Other. |
| You give it | List A and a reference list B, both lists of names or records. | The rows to sort and your category list. |
| Typical task | Bank payees to your vendor list; CRM customers to the customers in your accounting system. | Bank lines to your chart of accounts; survey comments to topics; job titles to departments. |
| When nothing fits | No match | Other |
A quick test: if the answer for a row is another row (this payee is that vendor), you need AI Fuzzy Match. If the answer is a label from a short list (this bank line is Software and subscriptions), you need AI Categorizer. The two work well on the same export: AI Fuzzy Match to link each payee to the vendor master, AI Categorizer to book each line to an account.
Credits are separate #
- Each license key belongs to one add-in, so each add-in has its own credit packs. An AI Categorizer key does not work in AI Fuzzy Match, and an AI Fuzzy Match key does not work in AI Categorizer.
- If you paste an AI Fuzzy Match key into AI Categorizer, the pane says: “This key belongs to AI Fuzzy Match. Credits are separate for each add-in, so add this key in AI Fuzzy Match.” Nothing is charged.
- The free credits are separate too: installing one add-in does not use up the trial of the other.
