Excel for Mac and Safari run add-ins in WebKit, which blocks web pages from calling local servers like Ollama; that is a platform rule, not a bug in the add-in. The pane loads and explains the situation, but chat and formulas cannot reach a local Ollama there.
Advanced users can put Ollama behind an HTTPS reverse proxy and point XLlama at that address in Settings; the notice in the pane links the details. Otherwise: use it on Windows or in Excel on the web in Edge/Chrome.
