If your administrator used the IT ZIP, follow the IT update and removal steps. The steps below apply to the regular EXE installer.
Update #
- Download the current XLlama installer.
- Save your work and close every Excel window.
- Reopen Excel.
Setup preserves chats, settings, license and usage records. During the initial release, refreshed installers may still show version 1.0.0; automatic checks only announce a higher version number.
Restore a previous installation #
If setup offers Restore previous version, close Excel first, then use it to return to the previously installed binaries. This does not roll back your saved chats or settings.
Uninstall #
Close Excel. In Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find XLlama and choose Uninstall.
Uninstall removes the add-in files and its Excel registration. It keeps chats, settings, license and usage records, plus Ollama and its models. Reinstalling therefore does not reset Free usage. Delete individual conversations in the app and use Clear formula cache to remove saved formula answers before uninstalling, if desired.
