Open Settings from the menu. Change model instructions, temperature, how long Ollama keeps the model loaded, reasoning display, selected-data format, sample size and appearance. Choose Save settings to apply changes.
The default is Table (simple, default): a range label and plain table rows. Use it for summaries or Cell references for questions about specific cells. Both formats support Ctrl-selected ranges. The sample size controls the size of an attached sample, up to 1,000 cells. Larger selections offer Send all data, a sample, or sending without the current cells. Send all data bypasses the sample limits. Empty outer rows and columns are trimmed separately within each range.
Advanced connection #
The default is http://127.0.0.1:11434. Under Advanced, you can use another loopback address or port on this computer. Test connection checks the typed address without saving it. Restore default resets the field; choose Save settings afterward.
Diagnostics #
Open Help → Diagnostics. Run the checks for installation detection, reachability, Ollama version and selected local model. A working API is sufficient even when Windows installation detection says not detected.
Test model response is optional and uses a fixed test prompt, no worksheet data and no Free allowance. Copy report includes version, bitness, local address and check results; it excludes keys, chat text, worksheet data and model names.
Updates and privacy #
Automatic update checks are off by default. Manual checks remain available. License checks operate independently when a key is saved. Free users without a key make no license requests.
Refresh formula answers #
Select cells containing PROMPT or EXTRACT formulas, then choose Refresh selected formula answers under Worksheet tools. Up to 1,000 formula cells can be refreshed together. Other cells keep their displayed answers. For an EXTRACT table, select its top-left formula cell. Free workbook limits still apply.
