“Excel didn’t respond in time” #
The full message is Excel didn’t respond in time. Finish editing the cell or close open dialogs, then try again.
XLlama waits 15 seconds for Excel. Excel cannot answer while you are typing in a cell or while a dialog box is open.
- Press Enter or Esc to finish editing the cell.
- Close any open dialog box.
- Send your question again.
In a formula cell, Excel was busy means the same thing. The cell updates by itself when Excel is free.
“Ollama doesn’t have enough memory for this request” #
The full message is Ollama doesn’t have enough memory for this request. Lower Settings → Context size to 8K or use a smaller model. Your computer cannot read that much data at once.
- Open Settings, set Context size to 8K and choose Save settings.
- Or open Models and choose a smaller model.
- Close other big programs and send your question again.
The data doesn’t fit #
The AI can only read a limited amount at once. XLlama will not send more than fits. If it did, Ollama would quietly cut off the start of your data. XLlama tells you whether your data or your question is too big.
Try one of these:
- Send less data. Click the chip above the message box. Choose Selection and select a smaller area, or choose None.
- Raise the size. In Settings, choose a bigger Context size (16K, 32K or 64K) if your computer has enough memory. Bigger sizes use more memory and answer more slowly.
- Use a sample. If the chip says sample, you can choose Use sample, Send without cells or Cancel. A sample may miss rows further down.
- Select the data again. If a follow-up answer says Earlier data in this chat no longer fit and wasn’t sent, select the data again before you ask.
A warning under an answer means the data filled all of the reading space. Try a bigger Context size or less data.
