LabelPop is coming soon to Microsoft Marketplace. Once it is listed, you add it from inside Excel in a minute, or ask your IT team to deploy it. Nothing is installed on your computer outside Excel. The LabelPop page shows when the listing is live.
What you need #
- Excel on Windows with Microsoft 365, Excel 2021 or Excel 2024, Excel on Mac with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later, or Excel on the web in a current browser.
- An internet connection when the pane opens. The add-in’s code and fonts are served from addins.pythonandvba.com and Microsoft’s Office script from appsforoffice.microsoft.com. Outside Excel on the web (for example Excel for Windows and Mac), printing also reaches api.pythonandvba.com; see Where is my data?
- A printer that prints PDF files, and label sheets in a size LabelPop knows (see Choose the right label size).
- No macros, no admin rights on your computer and no account with me.
Install it yourself once LabelPop is listed #
These are the steps that will apply once LabelPop is listed on Microsoft Marketplace:
- Open Excel and a workbook.
- On the Home tab, click Add-ins, then More Add-ins (on some versions: Insert > Get Add-ins).
- Search for LabelPop (by Bosau Digital) and click Add.
- A LabelPop group appears on the Home tab with a LabelPop button. Click it to open the pane.
You add it once per Microsoft account. It then shows up in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web wherever you sign in with that account.
Personal Microsoft account? Once LabelPop is listed, install from inside Excel as shown above. The Get it now button on the Microsoft Marketplace website asks for a work or school account and stops personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail and similar) at Switch to an account that has permission. The Add-ins menu in Excel works with every Microsoft account, including the free Excel on the web at office.com.
Deployed by your IT admin #
Many companies deploy add-ins centrally from the Microsoft 365 admin center. Once LabelPop is listed and your admin deploys it, it appears in the Add-ins menu under your organization’s add-ins without you doing anything; it can take up to 24 hours after the deployment. If your organization blocks add-ins from the store, ask your IT team to deploy LabelPop for you.
Updates #
There is nothing to update. LabelPop loads its current version each time the pane opens, so you always have the latest release. The changelog lists what changed.
Next step #
