Yes. LabelPop works in:
- Excel on Windows with Microsoft 365, Excel 2021 or Excel 2024.
- Excel on Mac with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later.
- Excel on the web in a current browser.
The pane looks and behaves the same on all three. Older versions such as Excel 2019 and 2016 cannot run the add-in. No macros are involved, so nothing needs to be enabled in Excel’s security settings.
How the PDF opens on each #
- Excel on the web: LabelPop builds the PDF in your browser and opens it in a new tab. If the browser blocks the tab, Open PDF and Download PDF in the pane do it. Nothing is uploaded.
- Outside Excel on the web (for example Excel for Windows and Mac): the desktop app cannot show a PDF from inside the pane, so LabelPop opens it in your default browser through a print page. For that, the pane sends an encrypted copy of the print job to our server for up to 10 minutes. It tells you before it sends anything. See Where is my data?
Platform notes #
- You print from your browser or PDF viewer, so the print dialog looks different on Windows, Mac and each browser. The settings are the same everywhere: Actual size or 100%, Fit to page off, the paper size LabelPop shows.
- If a PDF does not open, see The PDF does not open.
- In Excel on the web, if the pane stays empty after opening, reload the browser tab. Private windows and strict tracking protection can block the add-in’s storage; try a normal window.
- Label sheet in Excel has fewer print settings on the web than in the desktop apps; see Print from an Excel sheet instead of a PDF.
- The pane is in English in version 1.0.
If something does not work on your setup, contact support with the diagnostic info from the pane’s About page.
