A page does not have to be live all the time. You can pause it and bring it back later, delete it for good, or keep a copy of it as a single HTML file.
Pause a page #
Pausing takes a page offline without losing anything. Its address, any custom domain, its design and its data are all kept.
Pausing is done in the dashboard at my.tablepop.app, from any of these places:
- the page’s menu in the Pages list: Pause…
- the Pause button at the top of an open page
- the page’s Settings tab, under Pause this page
Confirm with Pause page. The page’s status changes to Paused.
What readers see #
Anyone who opens a paused page, on its address, a custom domain or in an embed, sees a short neutral notice: This table is not available right now, with “The owner has paused it. Please check back later.” No data is shown, and search engines are told the page is not there.
You can still update a paused page from Excel. The new data is waiting when you resume it.
Resume a page #
Press Resume in the page’s menu, or Resume page on the open page or in its Settings tab. The page is back at the same address within about a minute, and every link and embed works again.
Resuming needs a free live-page slot on your plan. If every slot is used, the dashboard says “Every live page on your plan is taken. Pause another page or upgrade, then resume this one.” Pause or delete another page first, or move to a larger plan.
Live pages and paused pages #
Your plan limits how many pages are live at the same time. Paused pages do not count towards that, but they do count towards the total number of pages you can keep:
| Free | Starter | Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Live pages | 3 | 15 | 100 |
| Stored pages (live and paused) | 15 | 75 | 500 |
So on Free you can keep up to 15 pages and switch between them, with three live at a time.
The pane shows a paused page in My pages as Paused by you, or Paused: plan limit when TablePop paused it because a paid plan ended. Pages paused for your plan come back by themselves when you subscribe again. You can also resume them yourself, one by one, as long as you have free slots.
A page shown as Disabled (or Turned off in the pane) was switched off by us, for example after an abuse report. You cannot resume it; we email you to explain what happened.
Delete a page #
Deleting takes the page offline for good and frees its slot.
- In the dashboard: choose Delete… in the page’s menu, or Delete page under Danger zone in its Settings tab, and confirm with Delete page.
- In the pane: open More on the page in My pages, choose Delete, and confirm with Delete page.
Deleting cannot be undone. The address stops working at once, every embed of the page shows nothing, and the page’s version history and any custom domain go with it. Your workbook in Excel is not touched. If you might want the page again, pause it instead.
Download a page as HTML (Starter and Pro) #
Download HTML saves a page as one self-contained HTML file: the table with its design, search, sorting and filters, all in a single file. It is a snapshot. It does not update from Excel.
- You can host the file anywhere: your own web server, an intranet, a shared drive, or open it straight from your computer.
- It needs no connection to TablePop and loads nothing from anywhere else.
- It never carries the TablePop badge.
- It is also a good way to keep a copy before you delete a page.
Find Download HTML at the top of a page’s Overview tab, in the page’s menu in the Pages list, or under More in the pane’s My pages, which opens the download in your browser. For a password-protected page, the pane’s entry opens the page in the dashboard instead, where the warning below is shown. On the Free plan the pane does not show the entry, and the dashboard shows the button with a Starter tag that leads to your plan page.
A downloaded file of a password-protected page is not password protected. Anyone who has the file can read the data.
Download HTML also keeps working during the 14-day grace period after a paid plan ends, so you can always take your pages with you.
