My verification code does not arrive #
Codes usually arrive within a few seconds. If yours has not:
- Check spam and junk. This is the answer most of the time. Mark the email as “not spam” so the next one comes straight through.
- Check the address you typed. A typo sends the code somewhere else, and nothing tells you so. Press Start over in the pane to correct it.
- Wait 30 seconds before asking for another. There is a short pause between sends. Then press Send a new code.
- On a work address, a company mail filter may be holding it back. A personal address is a quick way to test that.
Codes are valid for 10 minutes. Always use the newest email: asking for a new code makes the older ones stop working.
Got a “reset your password” email instead of a code? That address already has an account. Sign in with your password, or use Forgot password? to set a new one.
“Email or password is incorrect.” #
For your security, TablePop gives the same answer whether the email is unknown or the password is wrong.
- Check the email address for typos. Tick Show password in the pane to see what you typed.
- Check that Caps Lock is off.
- Still stuck? Use Forgot password? to choose a new one. See Manage your account and password.
“Too many attempts. Try again in … seconds.” #
After 10 wrong passwords within 15 minutes, sign-in is paused for your network for a short while. Wait for the time shown, or reset your password, which ends the pause straight away. This only affects the network the wrong attempts came from, so nobody else can lock you out of your own account.
I was signed out of the pane #
That happens when you changed or reset your password, or signed out other devices from the dashboard. Sign-ins also expire after a while: at most 90 days in the pane and 7 days in the dashboard. Sign in again with your email and password. Your pages are not affected.
The update review says “Cell changes: not checked” #
Before an update, the pane compares your new data with what the live page shows. When it cannot read the page’s current data, for example because of a brief network hiccup, it says Cell changes: not checked instead of guessing. The update itself still works. Press Update page to go ahead, or Cancel and try again in a moment for a full comparison.
What does “Changed in Excel” mean? #
The data in your workbook is different from what the live page shows. You edited it after the last update, and readers still see the old version. Press Update now in the banner, or Update in My pages, to publish the change. Undo the edit and the status goes back to In sync with Excel by itself.
Sync state unknown means TablePop cannot compare right now, for example because the page was last updated from another computer. Update the page once from this workbook and it tracks changes again.
“A new version of TablePop is ready · Reload” #
We published an improved version of the add-in. Press Reload in the banner to load it; your work in Excel is not affected. If it says This version of TablePop is out of date · Reload, the old version can no longer publish. Reload and try again.
My page says “This table is not available right now” #
The page is paused. Either you paused it, or it was paused when a paid plan ended and your account had more live pages than the new plan allows. Nothing is lost.
- Resume it in the dashboard: Resume in the page’s menu, or Resume page on the page.
- If that says every live page on your plan is taken, pause or delete another page first, or upgrade.
See Pause, resume or delete a page.
My page says “Page not found” #
- Check the address, especially hyphens. Addresses are all lowercase.
- Was it deleted? Deleting removes the address at once. Look in the Pages list in the dashboard.
- Was the address changed? On Starter and Pro, a new address retires the old one. Share the new link and copy the embed code again.
My page says “Page disabled” #
We switched the page off, usually after an abuse report showed it broke the Terms. We always email the account holder to say what happened and why. Reply to that email if you think it was a mistake.
A password page keeps asking for the password #
After the right password, a reader’s browser normally remembers the unlock for 7 days. It asks again when:
- The page is embedded and the reader uses Safari. Safari does not let pages inside an iframe remember the unlock, so it asks on every visit. Opening the page on its own address remembers it.
- The browser blocks or clears cookies, for example in a private window or with strict privacy settings.
- The password was changed. A new password signs every reader out.
- 7 days have passed.
If a reader sees That password is not right. Try again., check for typos and capital letters. After many wrong tries, the page asks them to wait a few minutes.
My embed does not resize #
The iframe code grows with the table thanks to a small script that comes with it. Some website builders remove scripts, and then the frame keeps a fixed height of 480 pixels with a scrollbar inside.
- Copy the iframe code again from the dashboard and paste all of it, including the
<script>part at the end. - If your builder strips the script anyway, set a fixed height that suits your table: in the Iframe choice, switch off Grow with the table, set Height, and copy the code again.
- If your site allows scripts, the script embed always fits the table.
See Sharing and embedding for step-by-step instructions per website builder.
My update is not showing #
Almost always caching. Published pages are cached for up to a minute so they load quickly.
- Wait a minute, then reload properly: Ctrl+F5 on Windows, or Cmd+Shift+R on Mac.
- Check it actually went through. The pane confirms every update. If it showed an error, the previous version is still live.
- Check the source. An update re-reads the range or table shown in the Data card. If that points at the wrong cells, fix it and update again.
My page is missing rows or columns, or a publish is refused #
- “Only the first … rows on your plan were published.” Free publishes up to 500 rows per table, Starter 2,000 and Pro 10,000, not counting the header row. A bigger selection is not refused: the first rows up to your limit are published, and this note tells you so. Updates and auto-updates work the same way. Filter or split the table in Excel, or move to a larger plan.
- “Only the first 60 columns were published.” A page holds up to 60 columns on every plan. Leave out columns readers do not need.
- Formatting or links are missing. When a table would be too large with them, TablePop publishes it without bold, italics, colours and web links, and the pane says so.
- “That table is larger than … MB” or “That table is too large for one page.” Even without formatting the table is over your plan’s page size: 2 MB on Free, 5 MB on Starter and 10 MB on Pro. Nothing is published. Publish fewer rows or columns, or leave out long text.
- Live pages: Free allows 3 live pages, Starter 15 and Pro 100. Pause or delete a page to make room for a new one.
- “Too many requests. Wait a moment and try again.” You sent many updates in a very short time. Wait a few seconds.
Always check the note under the pane’s preview before you publish: it lists anything that will be left out. See Plans, license keys and billing.
The pane will not connect #
- Check you are online. TablePop publishes to the web and cannot work offline.
- Close and reopen the pane, or choose Restart add-in in the pane’s menu.
- Restart Excel. This clears most add-in problems.
- On a company network, a firewall may be blocking it. Ask IT to allow
tablepop.appand its subdomains.
My headers are wrong #
With First row is headers ticked, the first row of your source becomes the column headings. If the page shows a heading like 4500, the source started one row too low, or your data has no header row. Fix the range and update the page.
Can I get a page back after deleting it? #
No. Deleting is permanent, and the page’s version history goes with it. Your workbook is not touched, so you can publish it again as a new page. Next time, pause a page instead, or download it as HTML first.
Does TablePop read the rest of my workbook? #
No. Only the source shown in the Data card is read and sent, and only when you publish or update. Nothing else in the file is touched. See the privacy policy.
Reporting an abusive page #
If you found a TablePop page that is illegal, deceptive, or publishes someone’s personal data without permission, report it at tablepop.app/report or email abuse@pythonandvba.com. Include the full address of the page and a sentence on what is wrong with it. A screenshot helps, because pages can be changed by their owner. We aim to answer within 24 hours. You do not need an account to report a page.
Still stuck #
Contact support. Include the page address, what you expected, what happened instead, and a screenshot if you have one. In the pane, Copy diagnostics under Settings copies technical details you can paste into your message.
