In your workbook, and nowhere else. SimpleGantt reads the table and draws the chart on your device, inside Excel. Your plan is never uploaded, and we have no access to it.
What goes over the network #
- Loading the add-in: the chart loads its code from addins.pythonandvba.com and Microsoft’s office.js. These requests carry no workbook data.
- The license check: sends your license key, an anonymous installation ID (a random value created on your device), the add-in version and a short platform name such as Excel for Windows. It runs only on author actions (opening the editor, Apply, adding a key); Remove key sends the key and installation ID once more to free the device slot. Without a key, no check is made.
- Nothing else: no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no automatic error reports.
What is stored where #
- In the workbook: each chart’s settings (data link, column mapping, look, collapsed phases) and its baseline. They travel with the file and never contain your license key.
- On your device: your license key, the installation ID, the trial start date, the record of your last successful license check, your brand colors and logo, a note of a sample or selection you started but did not finish, and a cached picture of each chart so it appears instantly when Excel reloads it.
What you create #
Exports (PowerPoint, PDF, images, HTML files) are created on your device and go where you save or paste them. A snapshot link carries the chart inside the link itself; nothing is stored with us, but anyone with the link can open it.
