When you add a key under More options > License, SimpleGantt checks it with the license server. The message tells you what went wrong.
The key is invalid #
- Copy the key fresh from your purchase email. It is 21 characters, letters and digits, with no spaces before or after.
- Keys for the SimpleGantt VBA tool work too. Keys for other products do not.
- A refunded or deactivated license is no longer valid. If you think that is a mistake, contact support with the email address you bought with.
The device limit is reached #
Each license covers a fixed number of devices (3 for Single user, 15 for Team), shared with the SimpleGantt VBA tool. Remove devices you no longer use in your account, then add the key again.
The license server cannot be reached #
SimpleGantt keeps working with a key that was verified recently for up to 7 days offline. Reconnect within that time; the key is checked again the next time you open the editor or the License panel. If you are online and the check still fails, a firewall may block api.pythonandvba.com; ask IT to allow it.
The trial ended during a session #
Charts you made during the trial keep their full look for everyone and now carry a small “Made with SimpleGantt trial” badge. Changing their format, and every Pro feature, needs a license from then on; new charts follow the free version (up to 10 tasks, PNG export with a badge). Add a key under More options > License and click Add key to unlock everything again.
