SimpleGantt has three states: a 14-day trial with every feature, a free version after the trial, and a one-time license. There is no subscription and no account.
The 14-day trial #
- Starts the first time you use SimpleGantt on a device. No sign-up, no key.
- Every feature is unlocked, including unlimited tasks and charts, dependencies, critical path, baselines and all exports.
- The trial is per device. When it ends, nothing breaks: charts you made during the trial stay live and keep their look, with a small “Made with SimpleGantt trial” badge. Changing their format then needs a license, and new charts follow the free version.
Free version #
- A live chart in Excel with up to 10 tasks, one chart per workbook.
- Bars, milestones, progress, phases and summary rows, the today line and weekend shading.
- All themes, color by phase, owner or status, labels, row height and grid columns.
- Copy image and Download PNG. Free charts carry a small “Made with SimpleGantt” badge, on the sheet and in the image.
What a license adds #
- Unlimited tasks and charts per workbook.
- Dependency arrows, start dates calculated from predecessors, critical path and baselines.
- Holidays, brand colors, colors from a Color column and your logo.
- Export to PowerPoint, PDF and print, interactive HTML file, snapshot link and a picture in the sheet, all without the badge.
License plans #
Both plans are one-time purchases with future updates included:
- Single user: one person on up to 3 devices.
- Team: up to 15 devices, for a team that builds and edits charts.

Viewers never need a license #
Colleagues who open your workbook see the chart and can update the plan in the table without a license. A chart made with a license or during the trial keeps its full look for them. Changing any of its formatting needs a license or the trial.
