Install SimpleGantt

SimpleGantt is listed on Microsoft Marketplace. Add it from inside Excel in a minute, or ask your IT team to deploy it.

What you need #

  • Excel on Windows or Mac with Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later, or Excel on the web in a current browser.
  • An internet connection when the chart loads. The add-in’s code is served from addins.pythonandvba.com; your workbook data is never sent anywhere.
  • No macros, no admin rights on your computer and no account with us.

SimpleGantt does not support Excel on iPad or iPhone.

Install it yourself from Microsoft Marketplace #

  1. Open Excel and a workbook.
  2. On the Home tab, click Add-ins, then More Add-ins (on some versions: Insert > Get Add-ins).
  3. Search for SimpleGantt and click Add.
  4. SimpleGantt now appears in the Add-ins menu. Click it to insert a chart frame on the current sheet.

You add it once per Microsoft account. It then shows up in the Add-ins menu in Excel on Windows, Mac and the web wherever you sign in with that account.

Personal Microsoft account? Install from inside Excel as shown above. The Get it now button on the Microsoft Marketplace website asks for a work or school account and stops personal accounts (Outlook.com, Hotmail, BT and similar) at Switch to an account that has permission. The Add-ins menu in Excel works with every Microsoft account, including the free Excel on the web at office.com.

Deployed by your IT admin #

Many companies deploy add-ins centrally from the Microsoft 365 admin center. If yours does, SimpleGantt appears in the Add-ins menu under your organization’s add-ins without you doing anything; it can take up to 24 hours after the admin deploys it. Admins find the steps in Deploy SimpleGantt in Microsoft 365.

If your organization blocks add-ins from the store, ask your IT team to deploy SimpleGantt for you.

Updates #

There is nothing to update. SimpleGantt loads its current version each time a chart opens, so you always have the latest release. The changelog lists what changed.
