The frame is blank or shows an error #
- Check the connection. The chart loads its code from addins.pythonandvba.com. Without internet, a frame that was open before shows its last picture; a new one cannot start.
- Restart the chart. Open More options > Restart add-in if the toolbar shows, or close and reopen the workbook.
- Update Excel. SimpleGantt needs Microsoft 365 or Excel 2021 and later. Older versions such as Excel 2019 or 2016 cannot run it.
- Company network. A proxy or firewall that blocks addins.pythonandvba.com or Microsoft’s office.js stops every add-in frame. Ask IT to allow both.
- Excel on the web. Reload the browser tab. Private windows and strict tracking protection can block the add-in’s storage; try a normal window.
SimpleGantt is missing from the Add-ins menu #
- Check that you are signed in to Excel with the account you added SimpleGantt with.
- If your admin deployed it, it can take up to 24 hours to appear. Restart Excel.
- If your organization blocks store add-ins, only centrally deployed ones appear. Ask IT to deploy SimpleGantt; the steps are in Deploy SimpleGantt in Microsoft 365.
Colleagues see an add-in message instead of the chart #
They do not have the add-in available yet. It is free for viewing; see Do colleagues need a license?.
Still stuck? If the frame opens, click Copy diagnostics under More options > Diagnostics, note your Excel version and platform, and contact support.
