The Message check card on Compose points out things to review while you write. It is guidance, not a delivery prediction or an account-safety score.
Review items and optional tips #
Items marked Review deserve attention before sending. The card has an orange border when review items are present. Optional Tip items are shown separately. Click an item to read its explanation and any suggested action.
- Contact fields: use double braces, such as
{{first_name}}. For a missing name,{{first_name|there}}inserts “there”. Without a fallback, a missing detail is left blank. - Variation brackets: use
[[Hi|Hello]]. Likely mistakes such as[Hi|Hello]are flagged. Ordinary brackets in a message are not automatically treated as an error. - Identical wording: a larger audience receiving the same text prompts a review. Check that everyone expects it. Adding a name or variation is not a guarantee against restrictions.
- Readability: the check can flag long messages, heavy use of capitals, promotional wording, shortened links and messages that begin with a link.
- Conversation: a relevant question can make it easier to reply. Skip this optional tip for informational messages, and follow up in WhatsApp when people answer.
- Pace: review fast custom timing. Use Sending options > Sending pace to return to cautious sending or adjust the pace.
Use the preview arrows to inspect different recipients. Insert contact field lets you choose a detail and what to use if it is missing. Personalization and message checks are available on the free plan.
Checks do not replace the final review. Connection, recipient, timing and plan requirements can still prevent sending. See sending guidelines for pacing, replies and opt-outs.
