Instead of putting a table into the email, you can attach it as a PDF or an Excel file. That suits long tables, statements people want to file away, and anything printed.
Set it up #
- In step 2, click Excel table on the Insert bar and pick where the table is (see Add an Excel table to every email).
- Choose what each person gets: the same table, their own rows or their own sheet.
- Under How should it arrive?, choose PDF attachment or Excel attachment (only that person’s rows).
- Type the File name. Fields work here, for example “Statement {{Customer}}” gives each person a file with their own name. Without a file name, the table’s Name is used.
- Click Save table.
PDF or Excel? #
- PDF attachment looks exactly like the range in Excel, charts included. It needs Microsoft Excel on your PC: SheetCourier starts its own hidden copy of Excel, opens your workbook read-only and closes it again without saving.
- Excel attachment contains only that person’s rows with the formatting kept, and works without Excel from an .xlsx, .xlsm or CSV file (save an older .xls or .xlsb workbook as .xlsx first).
If Excel is not installed, SheetCourier says “Pictures and PDFs need Microsoft Excel on this PC” and you can pick a table in the email or an Excel attachment instead. See Excel not found or the file is locked.
