SheetCourier reads your list and tables by itself, so most things work without Excel. These messages tell you what is in the way.
“Excel is not installed on this computer” #
Excel is not installed on this computer, so pictures and PDFs of your table are not available. Tables in the email and Excel attachments still work.
Picture in the email and PDF attachment need Microsoft Excel for Windows on this PC. Choose Table in the email or Excel attachment instead, or install Excel. If Excel is installed but SheetCourier can’t start it (“Excel could not be started”), open Excel once to finish any setup it asks for, close it, and try again.
“Your workbook has unsaved changes in Excel” #
The file is open in Excel with changes you have not saved. SheetCourier reads the last saved version. Save your workbook in Excel first to include your latest changes, then press Reload on the notice (or Reload file at the top).
“Your list is open in another program” #
Another program is using the file and won’t let SheetCourier read it. Save and close the file in that program, then press Reload. If Excel itself has the file open, SheetCourier usually reads a copy of the last saved version and says so.
“Your list has a password” #
SheetCourier can’t open files with a password. In Excel, save a copy without the password (File, Info, Protect Workbook) and pick that copy. A protected sheet works for tables in the email; for pictures and PDFs, remove the sheet protection.
“Your list isn’t on this PC yet” #
The file is in OneDrive or SharePoint and not downloaded. In File Explorer, right-click the file, choose Always keep on this device, then press Reload.
Other messages #
- SheetCourier can’t find your list: the file was moved, renamed or deleted. Click Pick another file.
- The folder with your list can’t be reached: connect to your network or VPN, then press Reload.
- SheetCourier can’t read this kind of file: save the list as .xlsx or CSV.
- This file seems to be damaged: open it in Excel, save it again as .xlsx and pick the new file.
- Excel took too long or Excel stopped working while making a picture or PDF: close other big workbooks and try again, or use a table in the email, which does not need Excel.
