A field is filled in for each person from a column of your list. {{First name}} becomes Anna for Anna and Ben for Ben.
Add a field #
- In the email: click Field on the Insert bar and pick a column.
- In the subject: click the Field button next to the Subject, for example “Your sales for September, {{Name}}”.
- Or type it: two curly brackets around the column name. Upper and lower case and spaces don’t matter, so
{{first name}}matches a column called First Name.
Fields also work in the signature, in the file name of an Excel table attachment (for example “Sales {{Name}}”) and in the column that names each person’s file.
When a cell is empty #
If a person’s cell is empty, that part of their email is blank, and the Check step tells you who. To use a word instead, add a fallback after a straight line: {{Name|there}} gives “Hi there” when the name is missing.
Make emails a little less alike #
Write [[Hi|Hello|Dear]] and each person gets one of the words, picked at random. It works anywhere in the subject and the email. This is the same syntax Gmail Blaster used.
Check before you send #
The Preview shows the email for each person (use the arrows to flip through them). If your message uses a field your list doesn’t have, for example after a column was renamed in Excel, SheetCourier says so: rename the column back in Excel, or change the field in your message. If a cell shows an Excel error such as #N/A, fix the formula in Excel first, or the email will say #N/A.
