While SheetCourier sends through Outlook on this PC, Outlook may show a window: “A program is trying to send an e-mail message on your behalf.” with the buttons Allow and Deny.
If nobody answers, or someone clicks Deny, SheetCourier says:
Outlook asked whether SheetCourier may send email, and it wasn’t allowed. Click Allow when Outlook asks, then try again. Outlook stops asking once your antivirus is up to date.
Why Outlook asks #
Outlook protects you from programs that send email without you knowing. It asks when it can’t confirm that your PC has an up-to-date antivirus program.
Fix it #
- Switch to Outlook, click Allow, then send again. People who already got the mailing are skipped.
- Make sure your antivirus is on and up to date. On most PCs that is Microsoft Defender: open Windows Security and check that virus protection shows no warnings. When Windows reports a healthy antivirus, Outlook stops asking.
- Restart Outlook after updating the antivirus.
On a work PC #
On a company PC, the setting behind this prompt (in Outlook, File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings, Programmatic Access) is usually controlled by your IT department. Ask them, or answer the prompt with Allow when it appears.
If Outlook is waiting for an answer, SheetCourier may report that Outlook didn’t finish sending in time and that an email may still go out. Check Outlook’s Outbox and Sent Items before sending to that person again.
